Bear Loves Rabbit

I am all about accessories. I love how the smallest thing can add so much character to a simple outfit. The perfect headband can do so much to workout clothes or everyday attire. And that is where Bear LovesRabbit comes in.

I was so excited to receive my headbands from Bear Loves Rabbit! The patterns are absolutely perfect. The two that I’m wearing are called Aqua Floral and Mustard/Mint Chevron. By the way, they also have a Donut Stop headband that is super cute! I may have to order that one next.

Aside from the patterns, my favorite part about these particular headbands is the fact that I am able to adjust them. I don’t like headbands that are too tight because I’ll end up with a headache but these fit to comfort.

Bear Loves Rabbit makes headbands for all ages. Their toddler ones are adorable. They will also be releasing slouch beanies for kids later this week. Be sure to check those out!

The owner of Bear Loves Rabbit is offering my readers 20% off on all purchases through Sunday, January 3rd. Use the code HEATHER20.

The Perfect Christmas

I apologize in advance. This post is going to be extra long and filled with tons of photos and videos! There are so many great things to share. I always have an amazing Christmas but this one may have been my absolute favorite. Let me say that I am so extremely grateful for my family and my fiancé’s family. I can not imagine my life without my parents or my brother or my sister-in-law. And now I have this second family that has become so important and I can’t imagine my life without them either. It’s so crazy to think of our capacity to love. It’s as if it’s infinite.

On Christmas Eve my fiancé and I started at his parent’s house. We had pizza for dinner, which was oh so good! Then everyone wanted to open gifts. It’s so much fun watching our niece, Paige, open her presents. She just lights up. My fiancé and I opened our joint gifts but I kept all of mine for Christmas day. There was one gift that my fiancé had to open from his parents because it was too large for them to transport. He was given a gaming chair. I’m not quite sure on all the details but I know he’s very excited to put it in his nerd room when we get our house. Yes, I told him he can have a nerd room. I love him that much.

This year I was so thankful for the selfie stick. It's such a small thing but it helped us capture some great photos. Usually one person doesn't get in the group shot because someone has to take the photo but not this year. We got everyone in - even Grandpa!

We went to my parent’s house late Christmas Eve and we spent the night there so that we could open presents early Christmas morning. I could barely breathe all night because I was so congested. I woke up before everyone else to make a hot tea. I was able to snap a photo of the tree and all the gifts before we distributed them. This was our first year opening presents with the six of us. Last year I was with Stephen’s family Christmas morning and every other year prior to that it was only my dad, my mom, my brother and me. It was really nice having Stephen and Erin there.

I was given a lot of great gifts but my favorites came from my fiancé. They were all so thoughtful. He gave me some panda dishes that I had seen while we were in Idyllwild in October. He had his best friend, who lives there, buy them for him and then he gave them to me for Christmas. I had completely forgotten about them so it was a nice surprise when I unwrapped them. He gave me another rose gold Michael Kors ring with a lock on it, a milk frother for my Bulletproof coffee and a new camera so I can start doing vlogs again! He also gave me some Breaking Bad t-shirts.

My parents bought my fiancé an Xbox One. He’s been wanting one for so long and he actually had the money saved in his sock drawer but I told him he needed to wait and see what Santa brought him before buying one himself.

My parents bought my brother a PS4. We wanted to prank my him though so we let Stephen open his Xbox and then my parents gave my brother a $200 gift card to Best Buy to put towards his PS4. Then a little while later there was a knock at the door and a gift from Santa appeared, which was my brother’s PS4. We all thought it was hilarious. He wasn’t as amused.

We gave my brother and sister-in-law an electric kettle, a coffee press and matching mugs with their initials.

I gave my fiancé tickets for us to see Alton Brown in March. We went to see him last October and I have never seen my fiancé laugh so hard. When I heard Alton was coming back to Southern California I knew I had to take my him again.

I gave my mom a heart necklace that said “Love, Keith”. My dad sent me a picture of my mom’s last Christmas card from her brother and I had a lady custom make the necklace with his handwriting. I’m so glad she loved it.

Once again, we used the selfie stick.

The Saldaña Family ♥

Stephen was testing out my new camera.

I love this man more than words can say. I can’t wait for 2015 to get here so I can become his wife.

My beautiful mommy.

Nashy wore his bow tie for the special occasion.

When Stephen’s family arrived we ate lunch/dinner and opened more presents. I love how good my fiancé is with his niece. I CAN NOT wait to see him as a daddy.

The Meyer Family ♥

And the handsome Meyer brothers.

I thought we were going to end the evening with dessert but our parents had other plans. They brought out champagne for everyone and surprised Stephen and I with a toast to our engagement. I ended up bawling like a baby but it was a really sweet gesture. I’m really nervous for our wedding now. If I was this emotional for a little toast, I can only imagine how much I’ll cry on our wedding day.

Christmas Eve

First, I have to share a non-scale victory with ya’ll. My fiancé and I went on a date last night. We went out for Mexican food and then we went to the Marriot here in town. It was gorgeous! The hotel has a river going through it so we walked around and looked at the water and Christmas lights. Afterwards, my fiancé wanted to grab some dessert. I had already used all of my calories. I saved up throughout the day because I knew we were getting dinner but I did not plan for dessert. He decided he wanted Cold Stone. It took everything inside of me to not order an ice cream. He ordered the dark chocolate peppermint ice cream and I did try one bite but that was it. When we got home I was so proud of myself.

The last two days I’ve been feeling a little stuffed up. I didn’t think anything of it but this morning I woke up 3am with a headache and I couldn’t breathe. I finally fell back to sleep a little after 4 and didn’t wake up again until 7:20. It’s now 10. I still have a little headache. My nose is running and now my throat is starting to hurt. I can’t decide if I caught a cold or if this is allergies. I ran to Wal-Mart this morning and stocked up on allergy medicine and juice.

My favorite thing to drink when I feel like I’m getting sick is warm water with apple cider vinegar and a little bit of honey. I like to pretend I’m drinking a hot apple cider and it helps me feel better. I hope all these vitamins and liquids kick in soon. I don’t want to be sick for Christmas.

I was going to try and get a workout in but I think it would be best if I rest. I still have to pack an overnight bag for us and I need to put all the presents in the car. I’m picking my fiancé up at work at 3. Then we will take off. We’re going to my future in-law’s home for dinner tonight and then we’re spending the night at my parent’s house. Only a few more hours of rest and then I need to get to work.

Merry Christmas Eve!

Countdown to Christmas

Well, most of our belongings are packed up in our POD. The only things left in our apartment are our mattress, a few dishes, our TVs, the Xbox, the Playstation, our laptop, ipad and clothes. The items we kept out are going to go with us to my future in-law’s home. I can’t remember if I’ve actually filled you all in on what exactly is going on. My fiancé will be getting a job transfer back towards the San Diego area here in the next couple of months. He has no word on the official date yet. Our lease is up on December 31st and rather than going month to month or signing a new lease, we decided it would be best to just move out. Both of our parents offered their homes but his parents are closer to the desert so we will be with them until his transfer goes through.

It’s going to be so nice to be with his family and closer to my family. On the other hand, it’s going to take some getting used to – going from an apartment to a bedroom. We will definitely be down sizing.

I’m going to miss this view. The desert may not be the most desirable place to be but the views out here are breathtaking, especially this time of year. There is snow on all the mountains around us and I love seeing that!

You know how we went to Disneyland last Sunday? Well, I finally received my email with our Buzz Lightyear photo yesterday. Way to be a week late, Disneyland. Usually it comes the same day. I had given up hope that I would even receive it. I love how intense we both look. He won, by the way. Not by much though.

My brother and sister-in-law drove out here on Saturday night and we all went to dinner for my sister-in-law’s birthday. We went to Starbucks after because our kitchen was packed up and I couldn’t offer them coffee. This cup caught my attention as soon as we walked in! My fiancé bought it for me because he said he still owed me a birthday present from Disneyland. This cup makes me want to drink water!

I had to go to Target and the mall yesterday. My fiancé needed me to grab one last gift and I needed to get gift bags to finish wrapping. Let me tell you, Target was insane and the mall was worse. I did have a coupon for Bath & Body Works that I wanted to use though. I bought a candle and then I was able to choose another item for free.

I chose this Coconut lotion because it’s one of my favorite scents of theirs. I’ll smell like the Caribbean in winter.

We got a Christmas card in the mail yesterday from my former boss and her family. I love how she addressed the card. A little premature but I need to get used to it. ♥

Since I no longer have my Keurig or coffee pot, I had to buy instant coffee. Surprisingly it’s pretty good. And my dad says his mom, my grandmother who I never met because she passed away in 1979, used to drink Nescafe instant coffee so it makes me feel closer to her.

Last night my fiancé and I finished wrapping presents and watched American Horror Story Coven. By the way, it’s SO much better than Freak Show. I made myself a cup of Bulletproof mint chocolate coffee using instant and it was pretty darn good!

I also made my fiancé a cup of Bulletproof mint chocolate hot cocoa. I tried a sip and it was SO good, if I do say so myself.

Here’s all the presents for our families, wrapped and ready to go. True story. All of my presents have been in our closet for weeks now. I did not peak once. I LOVE surprises and I do not like opening presents early. My brother, on the other hand, loves opening presents early. He prefers opening them on Christmas Eve and I like to wait until Christmas morning. We go back and forth every year. This year is my turn so we will be waiting until Christmas Day.

I’m so excited to give gifts this year. I think I’m most excited to see my mom open hers. And I told my fiancé he will have the best Christmas ever. I know he’s going to freak over his gifts. I can't wait!!!
