Confession time. I’ve gained some weight. I lost seventy-two pounds from 2010 to 2012 and since then I have gained thirty pounds back. That’s right. Thirty. Believe me, that was very hard for me to admit to myself, let alone post it here for anyone to read. But I have to be honest. The last five pounds I have gained in the last couple of weeks. I’m assuming from all the birthday festivities. That’s all over now though and I need to get back on track.
I worked so hard to lose those seventy-two pounds and I can’t keep letting myself go backwards. I’m going to start counting my calories again and I’ll be doing more cardio. I have been trying to focus mainly on lifting weights but I need to drop some weight before I cut out cardio completely.

I vow to post my progress on here and I hope ya’ll will hold me accountable. My schedule is about to get pretty crazy (packing, job hunting, moving, etc.) but I will make it a priority to get myself to the gym.

I don’t really have a goal weight anymore. I just want to keep going until I feel my best and right now I know I can feel better.

  1. Just remember heather..muscle ways more than fat..so those extra pounds youve gained can be due to the lifting you've been doing. Also from my experience Ive noticed when I try and up my cardio to drop weight it ends up with me craving more calories. I end up defeating the purpose. I end up finding myself doing even more cardio to burn the extra calories and it can become a vicious cycle leaving me feeling extremely frustrated. Cutting back calories is key...no more than 45 minutes of cardio a day(aerobics classes are the best) the change up keeps your body shocked ..same cardio everyday will cause your body to adjust . And if your looking for quick results keep lifting..at least 30minutes a day. I love reading your post keep them coming. This is just a suggestion from my years of hands on experience. Everyone is different but this is what works best for me. I changed up my workouts when I moved to Charleston including diet less lifting ..more running( cardio) and gained weight almost immediately. Ive recently have gone back to what worked for me and things are heading in the right direction once again. I gained 25 pound..ugh! So I know how you feel. Good luck sweetie..love you!

  2. I can not believe you have gained twenty-five ponds. You are so tiny! Yeah, I would like to think some of the extra weight is muscle because even though I've gained thirty pounds, I've only gone up one pant size. And I do remember ALWAYS being hungry when I was training for my half marathon. No good. Thank you for all the tips! I appreciate it!!!
