Sunday Progress

My Sunday was great! My boyfriend and I met with a realtor in the morning and he showed us a couple condos close to where we live now. We have been talking a lot lately and we think it would be best to purchase if we are going to stay in the area. It’s a big investment but it’s something we’ve both been wanting for a while now, especially my boyfriend.

When my boyfriend went to work I went grocery shopping, did a little vlogging and made my pre-workout meal. Pumpkin oatmeal. My best friend gave me the idea to add pure pumpkin to my oats. Genius! I have no idea why I hadn’t thought of it sooner. Gave me the energy I needed to get through my workout!

Then I went to the gym and did sprints and legs. I tried running again after that but my legs were Jell-o. I ended up walking on an incline.

I also took some progress pictures. I am obviously using the scale to measure my weight loss until my birthday but I also like to use photos to see how my body is changing. When the number on the scale takes a break or stops moving completely, progress pictures always remind me of how far I’ve come.

I'm pretty sure this shirt was not this loose the last time I wore it.

Don’t mind me. I’m just brewing some coffee and taking a selfie.

It’s now Monday morning and I am looking forward to a full day of bum-ness. Is that a word? Well, I just made it one. My legs and abs are so incredibly sore. I know it’s always best to move when you’re sore so I will probably head to the gym for another incline walk and arms. Other than that, my Monday will be filled with nothing. Have a great one!

Keep scrolling down.
Or watch my vlog
Or do both.
See that? Isn't that a beautiful site?
Not my feet, silly.
The number.
I have been wanting to be back in one-der land for oh so long, nearly two years now.
I am incredibly proud of myself and I'm so happy I didn't give up.
There were days when I thought 'maybe I'm always meant to be over 200 pounds.'
I'm so glad I refused to listen to myself on those days.
This is proof that you can do anything you want to do.
Onto the next 21.2 pounds!

Weekend Recap

I’m not going to lie, I’ve been going through a lot lately. I don’t want to go into details but I do want you all to know that I am still busting my butt and I’m not letting my emotions affect my calorie intake. In the past, I would have eaten my feelings. I would have skipped workouts and chose to stay in bed. Not this time. I’m trying to prove to myself how strong I am.

I want to reach my goal of losing twenty-eight pounds before my twenty-eighth birthday more than anything. I’m not going to let my pain or my stress come in between me and that goal.

Saturday, I spent some much needed time with my family. I was able to get in a workout before I left for home (and when I say home, I mean my parents’ house). I ended up in Costa Mesa with my brother and sister-in-law at Sidecar Doughnuts. My brother insisted I try one of their donuts. I am not a huge fan of donuts. I’m more of a cupcake fan but I made the decision to have one because you know, IIFYM. I went for the jelly filled one and it was delicious. I also brought three home for my boyfriend – a maple bacon, peanut butter & jelly and salted caramel. He liked them all but the maple bacon was his favorite.

My brother also took me to Whole Foods, my favorite store. I can't wait for the Palm Desert Whole Foods to open this week. I will be there all the time! I just love walking around there and being in that environment. We walked around for a while and I bought a couple things, including Earth Balance Vegan Cheddar Squares and Earth Balance Vegan Macaroni and Cheese. I’ve been wanting to try both of those items for a while now.

On Sunday my boyfriend finally had the day off, his first in two weeks, so we just laid low. I took a rest day but it was definitely an active rest day. We ran errands and I did tons of walking. The evening was filled with Netflix and homemade healthy nachos for dinner.

Today I got in a workout and I took some progress pictures. I ran a mile on the treadmill and then I did chest. I felt really strong while running. Even though it was only one mile, I made sure it was a good one.

I’m really trying to do a pull up. That’s my next goal. My boyfriend says I just have to keep trying and eventually I’ll be able to do it. At this point, I can’t even imagine doing one, that’s how far gone I am. But I used to say “I’m dying” when I’d try running for a minute so I’m not doubting myself. I know I can do it eventually. I just have to keep working at it.

I hope you all have an amazing week. Let’s make it a great one and try not to forget about your goals. You have to put your health first. It’s not selfish; it’s necessary.

Friday Weigh In

I said in my vlog last week that I was determined to get into onederland this week. I said I’d even be happy to see 200. Well, the scale said 200.2 this morning and that is good enough for me! It’s actually better than good enough for me. I’m ecstatic! I can not even tell you the last time I saw that number (with the exception of that wonderful scale at the doctor’s office last week). It had to have been late 2012, early 2013.

I had a lot to be proud of this week. Running a 5K in 35 minutes and 20 seconds. And then running another 5K the very next day in 33 minutes and 49 seconds. For a girl who never ran before the age of 24, that’s pretty darn good. In case you missed it, my first 5K in 2012 was close to 45 minutes. And I was excited about that back then!

So here I am, two weeks into my challenge and down 6.4 pounds. I am extremely excited!!! The thing that makes me so happy is that I’m not cutting out any foods. If I want something, I eat a little bit of it. And I make sure to track it. It’s all about moderation and accountability. I’m looking forward to what the scale says next week.

Hope you all have an amazing Friday and a great weekend!

Off to the gym!
