Weekend {Part Two}

We've had Vader at home with us for a little over two months now. We discovered early on that he was not good with other dogs but we didn't know if it was a lack of social skills or if it was aggression. We put him in training at Petco and whenever another dog would come near him he'd bark and go crazy but it was only when we were pulling him away from the other dog. We decided it was time to put him in front of another dog to see what would happen. We took him over to my in-laws house on Sunday to introduce him to Kaiser {I guess Kaiser would be Vader's uncle}. Kaiser is older and very calm so we knew he'd be a good first introduction for Vader.

As you can see by the photos, the two of them got along very well. Honestly, I got a little choked up when Vader didn't attack Kaiser. When we first started bringing him to his trainer she told me, "I don't know if you'll ever be able to have another dog with him." We don't want another dog right now {babies first} but it's nice to know in the future we can bring another one home.

They were so cute together. I can't wait to take him back to visit again. My in-laws also have an Old English Bulldog but he's younger and he's more lively. We were worried that he may not be too good with Vader and we didn't want to overwhelm Vader so we will save their introduction for next time. {Vader's vest says Do Not Pet, which is ironic because he LOVES people. But that vest was passed down from the Old English Bull that Vader will meet next time.}

And then we went home and had some cashew milk ice cream for dessert. Vader wanted some. Even though he was a very good boy we didn't give him any. No people food for him. By the way, Stephen has given up dairy with me. At least until the wedding. It's fun having a buddy on the dairy free journey!

Weekend {Part One}

This past weekend was go go go. I had to be at my parents house at 10am so we could leave for Redondo Beach. And we'd be gone ALL day. My great grandpa turned 95 so we all got together to celebrate. It was beautiful day which meant we had to walk on the pier for a bit too.

My grandpa didn't remember who I was at first. I think he still remembers me as a little girl. He had a really great time. He kept coming around to each table making an announcement and thanking everyone for coming.

I hope I'm as lively and happy as him when I'm 95.

After Redondo Beach, we headed down south to San Diego. My fiancé met us for dinner at Miguel's Cocina, our favorite. After that my fiancé went home and we all headed to the concert at the Sports Arena. It was just the ladies going in. My dad and uncle dropped us off at the entrance. It was so nice not having to deal with parking.

When we got to our seats Gavin DeGraw had already been singing for a few minutes. I'm pretty sure he opened up with In Love With a Girl because we did not see him sing that song. We did see Chariot, which is my favorite of his. He's just as good live. His voice is so good! You can't really see him in the photo below but he's where the spotlight is. He walked around the arena singing to people and jumping on chairs and taking selfies.

And then Shania came out. I started to get really emotional when she came out because the Woman in Me {her second CD} was one of the first CDs I ever bought. When I was younger, I saved up my money and went to the Warehouse to buy my first CDs and I chose hers and the Dixie Chicks Wide Open Spaces. To me, when I hear a song or an album, it takes me right back to where I was when I first heard that music. So when she was singing, I became that little girl who first loved country music so much.

Shania was really good. I had actually forgotten just how many amazing songs she had. I'm glad I didn't go back and listen to her albums right before the show to refresh my memory because it made it more fun every time a new song would start.

I had to snap this photo because the last concert I was at there was Carrie in 2012. She was phenomenal!!! And that was about a month before I had met my fiancé.

This is why I love social media so much! It's so cool to me when celebritities use their accounts to thank their fans and show behind the scenes moments. I'm pretty sure we saw Shania's buses driving away when we were stuck in traffic after the show.

Running Again

I've said this before. I'm useless after work - to the point where I don't even enjoy meeting up with friends or going shopping or anything. I like to just go home, eat dinner and unwind with Netflix...or make stickers (my newest addiction), I'm surprised that I've continued to meet up with my trainer every Thursday night. I'm definitely a morning person and I am so much better off working out before dawn. I got a friend of mine to agree to go running with me at 5am. When my alarm went off at 4:50, I jumped out of bed because I was so excited. We are close in pace so that was nice. She's a little faster than me but I was just a few steps behind her. I think we'll try and meet up once or twice a week. Hopefully I'll catch up to her soon.

Vader isn't a huge fan of toys but this one he loves. He's a hedgehog with a squeaky in the middle. Stephen gave him a Star Wars name but I can't remember it at the moment. Once Vader has a hold of him, he doesn't like to let go. I tried getting him to sit and stay with the hedgehog on his head. It worked one time out of thirty plus. But hey, once is good enough for me. He'll get better as we practice.

I was so happy to end yesterday with all greens on my Fitbit. Going to try and keep that up.

I ran again  this morning. By myself this time. It was actually chilly when I first got out of my car but then once I started running, I warmed up pretty quickly. Makes me super excited for fall. It was still dark out when I got there. It was really nice to watch the sun come up. These were my views as I ran around the lake.

I ran around the lake three times nonstop. Just like yesterday. And then I walked one lap just to get some extra steps in and cool down. I could already feel it being easier today than it was yesterday.

Came home to get ready for work. Have I mentioned that this guy follows me everywhere. I'm not lying at all. This is him laying right outside the shower...as I'm in the shower.

And then this is him RIGHT next to me as I'm putting on my makeup and doing my hair at my vanity. I told my fiancé we really should have named him Shadow because he's always there.

Late this morning I started to feel a sore throat coming on. My right tonsil has become swollen and I've been sneezing quite a bit. I hope and pray that I'm not getting sick. Drinking Airborne every three-four hours to fight this thing. I can not be sick right now.

Babies and Stickers

I usually spend Friday afternoon or Saturday morning cleaning up the house. I can't even imagine having to do this when I have kids running around - it's bad enough having a boxer. He follows me every where I go. If I'm sweeping, he's right there with me. If I'm doing laundry, he has to follow me out to the garage. And then when I stop to make some breakfast, this is what he does. This is in the dining room so he's not too far away from me.

My brother and sister-in-law went to the Taylor Swift concert on Saturday night and my brother face timed me so I could watch part of the show. I couldn't see Taylor but it was fun watching for a bit. It was very sweet of my brother to think of me.

We had company this weekend. A lot of my future in-laws came over and we had a very nice time. We hadn't seen our neice in a few months so we sure did miss her. She's wearing my bracelet, necklace and sunglasses and doing her "Princess pose" in this photo.

She loves playing with her Uncle too. She's the perfect mix of Princess and tomboy.

I loved seeing my little nephew again. The last time we saw him was the day he was born so he's grown and changed quite a bit. He's so cute and lovable!

I'm hoping he'll give my fiancé baby fever.  Less than eleven weeks until we get married and then we can start having babies of our own!

Vader absolutely loved Paige and Logan. He was actually really good around both of them. He kept going up to Logan and giving him kisses.

He stayed right by his side. Now we know he's good with kids! Another reason to start trying right after we get married. {I hope my fiancé is reading this.}

I did something very exciting this weekend - I'll back track a little. I've been crazy about my Erin Condren planner since I got it at the end of last year. I love stickers {always have} and washi tape and getting to plan and decorate my week every Sunday. Well, I started doing research and I learned you could easily make your own stickers from home. I talked to my fiancé and he said I could purchase one of the machines because I'd probably end up saving money in the end. Well, the machine came this weekend and I ended up making my very first set of stickers!!! My fiancé kept laughing at me because he said I was acting like a little kid but it's probably because I've loved stickers since I was a little girl and now I can make them in my own home. I have a feeling I'll be addicted...

After I printed the stickers, I used them to decorate my planner this week.

Eventful Weekend

The weekends always seem to fly by. I get off work at noon on Fridays so you'd think they would seem longer but nope. I've been working on the house a little bit every weekend but this past weekend, I only dedicated Friday to the house. But before I get into that, how cute is Vader in sunglasses???

I called my dad when I was leaving work on Friday to ask if he could come by and install the base boards in my girly room. He informed me that he was actually just finishing up. I'm so glad I gave him a key! I spent Friday afternoon putting my room together. I may do a little back story of each piece another time. For now I'll just say I've had all of these items for a long long time and I did not want to part with them. I hope to one day pass them on to our daughter. My fiancé came up with the idea for me to use our third bedroom as my girly room. I really wish I had taken before photos but let's just say the room was a mess.

I have so many ideas for how I want to decorate the walls. So many that I'm going to have to narrow it down. I only have four walls to play with. Well, more like three because of the window.

I haven't been able to use my vanity in over a year. In our last apartment, it just sat in the garage and it made me so sad. I love being able to come in here each morning and get ready for the day! I'll post more pictures as I add more décor.

On Saturday I went to a one year olds birthday party and it was Michael Jackson themed - genius! I had to wear one on my Michael shirts and I even found my Michael buttons the day before when I was putting my room together.

I am planning on getting a full length mirror. But until then, this will be my selfie mirror.

My future mother-in-law bought us a key holder {in case you're unaware, I'm obsessed with keys}. It was plain black and it needed a little sprucing up. I went to Hobby Lobby and bought a chalk pen and added a personal touch. I'm not a Meyer yet but I'm only 82 days away!

I told you this would be my selfie mirror temporarily.

Saturday night my fiancé and I went to see my friend sing at a country show. Then we walked in Old Town to grab dinner. It was really nice.

Sunday morning I had made reservations at the same place I went to last weekend with my parents. We actually had the day off together and I can't remember the last time we went out of town that wasn't to his parents house or to his work.

This was my view for brunch. It was perfect.

Sunday marked twelve weeks until our wedding. Crazy. So much to do before then. Time to get to it!
