Twenty Five

This is the first photo we ever took together. It was taken on December 28th 2013. Stephen had taken me to eat Mediterranean food. I was skeptical because I prefer my food to be plain with very few ingredients. However, we were still in the early phase of our relationship and I was trying to impress him. "Sure I'd eat Mediterranean food for you!!!" Deep down inside I was nervous as heck. That restaurant is now one of my favorites in town. We had also exchanged Christmas gifts that evening. He bought me three scarves. I'm wearing one of them in the photo. Later that night he asked me to be his girlfriend. And after I said yes I thought to myself, "I'm so glad I made him take a picture with me earlier".
We're getting married in twenty five days and I no longer have to try crazy food unless I really want to.

You Know You're Obsessed With Trader Joe's When...

My fiancé brought me home flowers last night. Just in time for Fall. They are from Trader Joe's. Pretty much everything else in our kitchen is from Trader Joe's as well. As I sat in the break room eating my lunch today I realized we may be obsessed with them. I stop there at least two times a week and I'm pretty sure my fiancé is there more than me. They are extremely convenient. Their food is pretty tasty and for the most part, healthy. {There's water in my Starbucks cup. I swear.}
For lunch today I ate their Pasadena Salad with Chicken. Probably my favorite salad. It's pretty plain but I prefer things plain anyways. It has chicken, almonds, rice noodles and an Asian vinaigrette. I'm thinking I may start adding mandarin oranges to it.
And then on the side I had my new favorite chips - Vegetable Root Chips. Made from sweet potatoes, beets and taro. Now I don't necessarily like sweet potatoes, beets or taro but I love these chips. And I feel better about eating them than regular potato chips {which I love with a passion}. I dip them in hummus. If you're near a Trader Joe's, run out and grab a bag of these chips. You won't regret it.

I'm a Starbucks Junkie. No big surprise there. And I'm not even so much a Starbucks Junkie but a Coffee Junkie. If there was another coffee shop closer to work, I'd probably be there every day. fiancé and I were discussing ways we could cut back our spending and he mentioned I could stop going to Starbucks every day. My heart may have skipped a beat but I looked at him, smiled and said, "Okay." So that is the reason why I had a mason jar filled with coffee at my desk. I brought coffee from home and threw it in the fridge at work this morning. When I needed my afternoon pick me up I just went downstairs and grabbed it. So, no more Starbucks selfies from me for a while. Although, I do still have a free one on my gold card. I'll have to save that for a special occasion or a day when I really really need one.

Thirty - one days until our wedding. My goodness. Time is flying so fast!

May Your Monday Be Short

Happy Monday! Only five more Monday's as a single woman. Crazy. Every time I tell my fiancé a fact like this he tells me, "I'm not single." By the way, any one remember Lisa Frank? I still love her entire line. When I was younger, I pretended I was married to Panda Painter and I made an entire scrapbook of our lives together. Way more than you wanted to know.

My co-worker gave me my gift last week because she wasn't able to make it to my bridal shower. She made me coasters for our home from our photos and fancy paper. So creative and extremely thoughtful!

After work on Friday I met my trainer for a good workout.

Then I went to get my eyebrows touched up. My new brow lady is amazing. I never imagined I'd have shape like I do now. She works wonders!

And then I went to get my nails done. I'm pretty sure this is my all time favorite gel color. I already told my girl I'm 99% sure this will be the color I want for my wedding day.

I did some work on my brooch bouquet on Saturday. It makes me happy to start seeing it come to life. I need to continue buying more pieces. I originally had about 20 but I think I'll need closer to 40.

I ran to JoAnn's to take advantage of their 60% off coupon. And then I made my fiancé go back with me when he got home so we could buy a few more.

I saw this new line of washi tape when I was there and I had to use all the strength inside of me to avoid buying any. I want them all!

This is my spread for this week. Since Wednesday is the first day of Fall, I went for a Fall theme. I love the cute critter stickers I found at Wal-Mart. I have my first wedding dress alterations appointment on's getting so close.

This was my 200th blog post. Thank you to those of you that have been with me since the beginning and thank you to those of you that are newer readers. I appreciate each and every one of you.

Planner Goodies & Cake

In case ya'll didn't know, I've become a little obsessed with planners and everything that goes along with them - washi tape, stickers, fun paper, punches, pens, etc. I've always been into crafty things so I'm really excited about the planner community that I have jumped right into. I even created an Instagram account that will be dedicated to my planner goodies - @rosegoldsprinkles. I am in a lot of groups and I had heard that Dollar Tree had tons of cute Halloween washi tape. I made several trips there before actually finding them in my area. I didn't buy all of them but here are the ones I did purchase.

We are getting married in October so I'm not planning on decorating my planner for Halloween. It will be mostly wedding and honeymoon decor. We will actually be on our honeymoon in New York for Halloween. That will be interesting...I'm sure we'll get to see a lot of unique costumes. Even though October will be all about our wedding, I still couldn't resist this Halloween washi. I'll definitely do some Halloween decorating.

On Saturday I went to work with my fiancé and did some shopping after I dropped him off. I used a couple gift cards that I've been hanging onto. There are so many cute things out for Fall but I can't seem to buy new clothes just yet because it feels like summer in the south right now. It's hot and muggy and I pretty much feel gross every time I step outside. I can't wait for cooler weather!

Another thing I had heard of from the planner community is a store called Daiso Japan. I kept seeing awesome things posted after people had shopped there. I had no idea if we even had one in California but I was driving to buy lunch for my fiancé and there it was - in big bold red letters - Daiso Japan. I had to go in. Mostly everything in there is $1.50 so I was able to grab a lot of cute things for a reasonable price.

After I ate lunch with my fiancé I ended up searching the area and I found a second Daiso Japan nearby so I drove there too. I found a couple more cute items. I loved this coffee cup collection but I didn't buy them because I already have more than enough mugs.

After my fiancé was done with work we drove to my friends house. She just moved back from Washington DC and I hadn't seen her in a few years. AND she's going to be making our wedding cake/cupcakes so we went over for a tasting. Her son, Jax, is so adorable. I hadn't seen him since his baptism.

And I hadn't even met her daughter, Rory. Look at that face!!! She is precious.

And then there was cake. My friend is extremely talented {pretty much all of my friends are}. These cakes were all delicious. I'm not even going to list the flavors because I want our guests to be surprised even though you can probably guess a few of them just by looking at this photo.

Cake makes him crazy.

We had been gone all day. We left the house around 6ish Saturday morning so Stephen could be at work close to 7. And then we didn't get home until really late...I don't even know what time it was. But we felt so bad that Vader was by himself for so long. He was extremely excited to see us though. I love how dogs are super happy when you get home - even if you've left them outside all day. That's why dogs are the best.

I had to show Stephen all the goodies I had found. He told me my addiction needs to stop...but he kids. He's highly supportive of my planner obsession.

I had a package waiting on the doorstep and I had no idea who it was from. There was no name on the card...but once I opened it, I knew it was from my sister-in-law.

It was so sweet of her to send me a bridal shower gift from Washington. Thank you, Erin! ♥

Sunday morning we woke up and walked to get coffee and groceries.

Sunday afternoon we took a trip to Lowe's to purchase some things for the house - honestly, probably my least favorite thing to do. There's just something about a home improvement store that gives me anxiety. Maybe because I have no idea what I'm looking for half the time. We also went to the mall because the day before I had seen the Fall collection at Bath & Body Works and I told Stephen I needed to take him back there. I like to get his input on the scents I use in our home. We bought a candle, some wallflowers and a couple decorative items to use over our hand soaps. Now our home smells like Fall and I love it!!!

Stephen did a few things around the house on Sunday afternoon and I lounged. Vader does not like being without one of us. Even though I was sitting right there with him, he still insisted on knowing exactly what dad was doing. I opened the shutter and he sat there watching dad while he worked outside.

They're cute.

{No Title}

"The head of a company survived 9/11 because his son started kindergarten.
Another fellow was alive because it was his turn to bring donuts.
One woman was late because her alarm clock didn't go off in time.
One was late because of being stuck on the NJ Turnpike because of an auto accident.
One of them missed his bus.
One spilled food on her clothes and had to take time to change.
One's car wouldn't start.
One couldn't get a taxi.
The one that struck me was the man who put on a new pair of shoes that morning,
took the various means to get to work but before he got there, he developed a blister on his foot.
He stopped at a drugstore to buy a Band-Aid.
That is why he is alive today...
Now when I am stuck in traffic,
Miss an elevator,
Turn back to answer a ringing telephone...
All the little things that annoy me,
I think to myself, 'This is exactly where I'm meant to be at this very moment.'"
