Change of Seasons

It may be wishful thinking but I can feel the seasons changing. There's a chill in the air when I walk out of work each night and I love it. With the change in weather {I looked at the forecast as I was typing this and we'll be back in the 90's on Sunday - I knew it was wishful thinking}, I can't help but think about the changes that have occurred and will continue to occur over the next few months. This year alone has been full of changes - some good and some not so good. I knew 2015 was going to be a huge year for me and my fiancé. But I never imagined what God had in store for us.
We started out the year living with his parents in their guest bedroom and the majority of our belongings were in storage. Then my fiancé was offered the highest volume store in Southern California, which has turned out to be a blessing and a curse. We had to move in with my parents at that point because Stephen was now commuting to San Diego and I had accepted a job in Temecula. Then April rolled around and we starting "looking" at houses online. We didn't realize how quickly we'd actually end up purchasing. We made one offer on a house and they accepted our offer and that was that. It was very much meant to be and in line with God's plan for us. Everything fell into place perfectly. We moved in and shortly after we brought Vader home. I struggled with him at first because I want my house to be perfect and it can't be with him running around. But Stephen reminded me that he is preparing us to be parents. When I thought about it that way I realized I had been wrong. He still isn't allowed in our bed or on our couch. But he has four beds of his own, toys, treats and he's even taken over one of Stephen's blankets. He's definitely spoiled but he's a very good dog. We got lucky with him. And now I can't imagine coming home and not seeing him jumping up and down with excitement. We just need to keep socializing him so he'll feel more comfortable around other dogs.
Now it's September and I'm living my last full month as a single woman. {When I reminded Stephen of this he replied, "But I'm not single."} For so long I was told to not put your boyfriends before your family and friends...but now Stephen will no longer just be my boyfriend or my fiancé, he will be my husband. From this point forward, he will come first no matter what.
I love that we decided to get married in the fall. We both love fall and the change of colors {the little bit that we get here in Southern California}. I feel like it's the perfect way to start our new lives together as a married couple. Here's to changing seasons!
