Fifteen Weeks

Did you notice the color changed from blue to pink?! It's because we're having a GIRL!

How far along? Fifteen weeks and six days

Baby's size? Baby is the size of a box of crayons this week

Baby's nickname? Her daddy has been calling her by her name - he chose it. I've been calling her baby girl because I keep going back and forth on her name. I won't be sharing her name until I'm certain of what it's going to be and that might be once she's born.

Maternity clothes? Yes! I finally went and bought some maternity tops this weekend. Much needed! Now I need maternity pants.

Exercise? I got in a good full body workout with my trainer and I did lots of walking. My body gets so achy after being on my feet now for too long.

Sleep: Still getting lots of good sleep in. I do wake up often to pee but I usually feel rested in the mornings. Today I actually took a nap in the afternoon but that's not an everyday thing anymore now that I'm in the second trimester.

Best moment this week: Finding out that we're having a girl.

Miss anything? I really didn't miss anything this week.

Movement: I definitely felt her kicking yesterday. I've thought I felt her in the past but this time I know for sure it was her. Last night her daddy put his hand on my belly hoping to feel her but he couldn't. I think at this point I can only feel her from the inside.

Food cravings: There were a few days where I wanted Watermelon Sour Patch but other than that, no major cravings this week.

Anything making you queasy or sick: No, this week was a pretty good week as far as queasiness goes. I've learned to avoid tomatoes, even on my sandwiches. I think that's what was causing the sharp pains in my stomach.

Gender: GIRL! Ya'll for weeks I really did think I was having a boy. I even bought a blue dress to wear to our gender reveal. But then like I mentioned in my post last week, after our last sonogram I started to feel like we were having a girl. I would have been extremely happy either way. I'm excited to dress her and do her hair and play Barbies with her. I've already told Stephen I'm going to teach him how to braid and do pony tails.

Symptoms: Just an aching body after being on my feet too long.

Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or moody most of the time: Happy. I don't think I've been moody at all this week. Oh, except when Stephen took me to Lowe's after I told him I was exhausted. To be fair, the trip to Lowe's was for me but I did get pretty cranky while we were there.

Looking forward to: Getting baby girl's nursery together and buying her lots of pretty things.

Pink cake!

My blue Lularoe dress that I bought thinking I was having a boy. You can't tell from the front but my baby bump was very noticeable in this dress. Note to self - I need a better selfie mirror.

I went back to brown hair, by the way. My roots were driving me crazy.

Buying my first maternity tops. I went for some basic long sleeves and sweaters to get me through the colder weather.

We bought baby girl these shoes. I picked the pink ones and daddy picked the moccasins.

Fourteen Weeks

{I had this all ready to post on Wednesday, the 23rd, and I completely forgot to actually click post. I blame it all on pregnancy brain.}

How far along? Fourteen weeks and six days.

Baby's size? Baby is the size of a Troll doll. Probably my favorite comparison yet.

Baby's nickname? Baby

Maternity clothes? Not yet. Still wearing my pre-pregnancy jeans. They're getting pretty snug though. Photo below.

Exercise? Oh my gosh. None this week.

Sleep: I'm staying up later than usual. Getting a little less than eight hours a night. I love having energy again.

Best moment this week: Seeing our baby on a huge screen. Watching him or her kick and jump and move and suck their thumb. It was all so amazing!

Miss anything? On Saturday night I was really wanting a margarita. I squeeze lime into sparkling water and I added a little salt. It definitely helped with the craving but the effect was no where near the same.

Movement: I've felt some movement and I think it's the baby. If I put my hand on the lower part of my stomach, it feels the same as when you put your hand to someone's chest to feel their heart beat.

Food cravings: This week I wanted a soft pretzel with cheese. I didn't want to go to the mall just for a pretzel. I ended up finding a box of mini cheese pretzels at the grocery store in the freezer section and they were fabulous!

Anything making you queasy or sick: It's amazing how much I still gag, especially in the early morning before I've eaten. Any strong smell or a certain food {and of course, I can't think of the food right now because I have pregnancy brain} will do that to me.

Gender: We find out tomorrow! I've been feeling like it's a boy my entire pregnancy but after we did our ultrasound on Saturday, for some reason I've felt like it's a girl this whole week. We'll see!

Symptoms: Every few days I'll get a small headache but nowhere near as bad as they used to be. And this doesn't happen when I eat at home but when we go out to eat, I get the worst stomach pains after. On Saturday, after our ultrasound we went to breakfast with my parents. I had pancakes and sausage. And even before I started eating I felt really gross. As I ate, it got worse. I had to go home and lay down. The pain was too uncomfortable. Tonight we went to dinner and I had a turkey sandwich. Nothing crazy. About an hour later I felt super bloated and I had sharp pains going through my stomach. It's not fun. Maybe I shouldn't eat out anymore...Oh yeah, and major pregnancy brain!

Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or moody most of the time: I think I've been pretty happy

Looking forward to: Finding out if our baby is a little boy or a little girl!

Thirteen Weeks

How far along? Thirteen weeks and six days.

Baby's size? Baby is the size of a Matchbox car this week.

Baby's nickname? We have been referring to the baby as "baby".

Maternity clothes? Not yet.

Exercise? I've been way more active the last three days. I can slowly feel my energy coming back to me and I'm very excited about it.

Sleep: I'm still sleeping a lot but I am staying awake a little later at night. More like closer to 10 than 9. I'm still getting eight hours of sleep each night though.

Best moment this week: Hearing the baby's heartbeat for the first time.

Miss anything? Pizza. Now that I can't eat it anymore. I'll explain in a moment.

Movement: I've felt movement in my stomach but I have no idea if it's the baby at this point. Might just be all of my organs moving around, making room for the baby.

Food cravings: Nutty Bars, which are now called Nutty Buddy's.

Anything making you queasy or sick: I was incredibly sick on Saturday night, the most sick I've been my entire pregnancy. I ate meat lovers pizza at my niece's birthday party. Right away I started feeling a little off. We were going to go to my in-law's house after and I ended up telling my husband I was starting to get tired. I'm so glad we went straight home. I was laying on the couch complaining to my husband that I felt incredibly full and my insides were on fire. He grabbed me some tums and I gagged when I put them in my mouth. A few minutes later I was puking my guts out. I felt so much better after I got it all out. I knew the pizza wasn't bad because my husband ate it too and he was fine. I texted my friend, otherwise known as my pregnancy encyclopedia and on call doctor, and she said that most likely it was acid reflux. Tomatoes are a major trigger. My husband says I can't eat pizza anymore during my pregnancy.

Gender: I have a strong feeling that it's a boy. My mom and I were watching something on her DVR and when it ended it went to a show on TV and the first thing we heard was "Stephen and Heather's baby boy". My mom and I looked at each other and we both asked each other, "Was that a sign?" I was already feeling boy long before this though.

Symptoms: Other than headaches and a bad case of acid reflux, I haven't had any other symptoms.

Wedding rings on or off? On.

Happy or moody most of the time: Happy most of the time. Saturday night was the exception.

Looking forward to: Finding out if Baby Meyer is a boy or a girl.

Sweet Stuff

I have been so bad at blogging lately. The only post I've kept up with is my weekly pregnancy one. At least I've done that, right? Life is so different now that I work from home. Good different, of course. I'm nowhere near as stressed as I used to be and I have the best co-workers in the world - Vader and Jax. You'd think I'd be able to blog more but during my time off I'm usually doing chores around the house, napping and/or trying to get rid of my migraines. I'll catch up by posting some photos from the last few weeks.

For a few weeks there the thought of anything sweet made feel nauseated. When the second weekend of October rolled around all I wanted was pancakes and candy and ice cream and egg nog. Funny how things change. Stephen and I were in Idyllwild that weekend for the wine walk. Here are my delicious pancakes.

Our cabin is behind us. The wine walk isn't as much fun when you can't drink wine. I just walked along side the gang but towards the end, I was exhausted and my back was aching. I went back to the cabin and took a quick nap. Felt so much better after that.

We ended up going to Sunday brunch on our last day before we headed home. I wish I could have eaten a lot more than my stomach would allow. This food was all so good. They also had tons of French pastries that I did not photograph.

On October 15th my mom and I went to some garage sales. They had tons of baby stuff but since we don't know the sex of the baby yet we couldn't grab anything. Afterwards we went out for coffee and breakfast. The cinnamon roll was from Great Harvest Bread Co.. My mom and I split one. They are huge! And I had a salted caramel mocha from Starbucks. For a while there the only way I could halfway enjoy coffee was if it was a fancy drink from Starbucks. It started to get pretty pricey.

I've gone through a cereal phase. There were many nights where Lucky Charms was my dinner. The thought of anything else disgusted me.

I tried adding whip cream to my coffee I brewed at home, hoping it would taste better to me. Nope. I'd still drink it because if not, I'd have a terrible migraine, but I'd suffer through it. Who am I kidding? I have terrible migraines even when I do drink my coffee.

Like I mentioned earlier, the only way I was able to enjoy my coffee was if it was a fancy drink from Starbucks. Our Albertsons across the street has a Starbucks inside. They recently got an oven and are serving breakfast sandwiches. They had a deal going on for two weeks where if you purchased a breakfast sandwich, you could get any iced grande beverage for free. That was an amazing deal and I was there maybe 10 out of the 14 days they had the deal going. I even brought Stephen twice.

For a while there my favorite snack was an apple with brie.

On October 22nd, Stephen and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary. Actual day is the 25th but we both had to work that day.

We went to the North County Mall in San Diego, walked around and enjoyed a delicious dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. I ordered the Chinese Chicken Salad and a Strawberry Lemonade. That salad was wonderful! I took more than half of it home and finished it later in the evening. We did not get any cheesecake because we had our wedding cake waiting for us at home.

We watched The Conjuring 2 {nowhere near as good as the first one} and these two spooned on the floor next to us. They are so cute when they're sleeping. Haha!

Our wedding cake was just as good as I remember it from a year ago. It's funny because I have not been able to eat anything pumpkin - still to this day - because it does not sound appetizing to me. But our wedding cake was pumpkin and I thoroughly enjoyed this! My very good friend, who made our wedding cake, and her husband are raising money for a service dog for their son who suffers from epilepsy. Please share this page and help us spread the word. Every dollar counts and will make a huge impact in Jax's life. Thanks!

I was able to see our baby on our anniversary. Dragon baby was jumping all around like a little jelly bean on a trampoline. It was the cutest! The doctor had a hard time getting a good photo because he/she would not be still for a moment.

And because I rarely take selfies anymore...

Twelve Weeks

How far along? Twelve weeks and six days. Second trimester starts tomorrow! I am thrilled about that. Hoping to feel more normal and like myself again.

Baby's size? The baby is the size of a ripe apricot this week.

Baby's nickname? We have been referring to the baby as "baby".

Maternity clothes? Not yet.

Exercise? I worked out with my trainer on Monday. Still not getting as much exercise in as I'd like. I'm anticipating lots of energy in the second trimester.

Sleep: Still lots and lots of sleep. I actually went to sleep at 11 last night {up late waiting on the election results}. That was the latest I've stayed up in a LONG time.

Best moment this week: Watching the election results come in with my husband and parents. I will never forget those emotions running high.

Miss anything? I miss not having headaches.

Movement: None yet.

Food cravings: Bagels and chocolate chip muffins. Mostly bagels. I made my husband go to Bruegger's twice on Sunday. I wanted a plain bagel with cream cheese for breakfast and lunch.

Anything making you queasy or sick: My nausea came back on Friday night with a vengeance. We went to one of our favorite Mexican restaurants and I could barely eat anything. I took two bites of my cheese enchiladas {one of my favorite foods} and my husband ate the rest for breakfast the next morning. Luckily it hasn't been that bad since that night.

Gender: We will know soon!

Symptoms: Terrible headaches. Saturday was the worst. I had a migraine all day that I could not get rid of. I spent all day Sunday recovering. So far the only thing that has really helped is running Eucalyptus, Peppermint and Lavender in my oil diffuser and sitting or laying right next to it.

Wedding rings on or off? On.

Happy or moody most of the time: I'm not going to lie, I was pretty cranky for the majority of the week. I cried for absolutely no reason one day. The headaches really did take a toll on me. Lately I've just felt like something has taken over my body.

Looking forward to: I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow. Hopefully I get to see the baby!

Here's my baby bump. Making it's debut at twelve weeks and six days.

Eleven Weeks

How far along? Eleven weeks and six days. I thought I was farther along but when I went to see my OB last week she confirmed my due date and I was off by six days. This is the reason why there was no blog post last week. New due date is May 18th 2017. Speaking of blog posts, I promise I'll get better at posting. I have so much to say. I just haven't had the time to gather all my thoughts and type them out.

Baby's size? Dragon Baby is the size of a Brussels sprout this week.

Baby's nickname? We have been referring to the baby as "baby".

Maternity clothes? Not yet.

Exercise? I work out with my trainer once a week and I've been walking. Not as much as I should but as always, I'm a work in progress. My half marathon is quickly approaching so I do need to get my activity levels up. I'm 99% sure I'll be walking that half marathon, by the way.

Sleep: No lack of sleep for this momma. I get more than eight hours every single night.

Best moment this week: Since there were two weeks in between my last post and this one, I'm going to give two of my best moments. The first one was when I was able to see our little one jumping around in my uterus. He or she looked like a jelly bean bouncing all over the place. The doctor had a hard time capturing a photo because of how active he or she was. My OB said the heartbeat looked great also. The second best moment of these last two weeks was celebrating our one year anniversary as husband and wife.

Miss anything? Not really.

Movement: This morning I swear I felt the baby moving but I looked it up and it's very unlikely that I felt the baby this early on.

Food cravings: I had been craving egg nog for a few weeks and it wasn't even in stores yet. My husband found me some this past Saturday. I've been enjoying it in my coffee.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Unfortunately coffee still is. I have been able to get down lattes from Starbucks much easier than my coffee from home. Also, the thought of anything pumpkin makes me feel ill.

Gender: Unknown but I have a feeling it's a boy.

Symptoms: I've still be getting really bad headaches. I spoke with my doctor about this and she told me to take more Tylenol - up to 4,000 mg per day. That scares me a bit. I have only ever taken 1,000 mg in a day and that's only when I can't bare the pain anymore. I told her I think my headaches are from caffeine withdrawals because I went from drinking 3-4 cups throughout the day to only 1 cup in the morning. She told me if the Tylenol does not help to add back in more coffee and slowly cut back. She said if I go over the 200 mg per day it won't do any harm. A friend of mine suggested trying a cup of half caff in the morning and another cup of half caff in the afternoon. I thought that was a great idea because I used to drink at least two cups of coffee in the afternoon. Spreading out my caffeine would probably help. She also read an article and told me about it. Gatorade helps pregnant women with headaches. It's more hydrating than water because of the electrolytes. The last two days I've tried both of her suggestions and my headaches are not completely gone but they are soooo much better!

Wedding rings on or off? Still on and my husband gave me a new wedding band for our anniversary. I told him I wanted a solid rose gold band to represent the solid foundation during our first year of marriage.

Happy or moody most of the time: Happy! I have nothing to complain about.

Looking forward to: Finding out the sex of our baby so we can start getting the nursery ready. We will know this month!
