Forty Weeks

How far along? Forty weeks and six days.

Baby's size? Baby is the size of a watermelon.

Baby's nickname? We call her baby, baby girl and Acacia.

Maternity clothes? Yes, mostly wearing all maternity clothes. A few pre-pregnancy tops still fit but not many. My belly is starting to hang out of the tshirts I wear around the house.

Exercise? Same as last week. Walking and I've been doing some exercises on a medicine ball. Hoping it will help induce labor.

Sleep: Sleep during the night this week wasn't terrible. I ended up taking a few naps because I was just plain exhausted. I've read that someone this far along either has tons of energy or is tired. I'm one of the lucky ones who is always tired.

Best moment this week: Seeing Chris Stapleton in concert on my due date with my parents. My dad and I had been talking about going to this show for months but we knew it wasn't possible because it was my due date. I saw my midwife that morning. I still wasn't dilated so she gave me the approval to go and have fun! And that we did! My husband and I also had our last date night before baby. We went to dinner at Souplantation and we picked out some books at Barnes & Noble for us to read to Acacia.

Miss anything? Nothing really this week.

Movement: Lots of movement, especially during the concert. She's going to be a music lover. I caught a little bit of her movement on video this week.

Food Cravings: Sweets and carbs. That was pretty consistent throughout my entire pregnancy.

Anything making you queasy or sick:  Only my acid reflux. I always think it's getting better but then I eat something tomato based and it acts up again.

Gender: GIRL!

Symptoms: TERRIBLE acne! My face flared up again like crazy! Not sure what that's all about. And it was in spots where I normally wouldn't break out. Must be my hormones. And acid reflux. I'm feeling a lot of pressure still but no pain. I keep hoping for contractions but nothing yet.

Wedding rings on or off? Off.

Happy or moody most of the time? Happy!

Looking forward to: Welcoming our baby girl into the world! Hopefully this is my last weekly pregnancy update.

Definitely one of the best concerts I've ever been to.

He is a true talent.

Mommy and Daddy's last date night for a while.

Forty weeks and five days pregnant. It's been so hot outside so I've been hibernating inside with the air conditioning on. Comfy clothes and messy hair is what it's all about right now.

Thirty-Nine Weeks

How far along? Thirty-nine weeks and six days.

Baby's size? Baby is the size of a small pumpkin.

Baby's nickname? We call her baby, baby girl and Acacia.

Maternity clothes? Yes, mostly wearing all maternity clothes. A few pre-pregnancy tops still fit but not many.

Exercise? Walking and I've been doing some exercises on a medicine ball. Hoping it will help induce labor.

Sleep: So little. Getting me used to lack of sleep when Acacia is here.

Best moment this week: I know it sounds silly, but getting a vacuum cleaner for Mother's Day from my parents made me so happy!

Miss anything? Alcohol. All the ladies had Peach Bellini on Mother's Day except me.

Movement: Tons of movement still. Some of it is even becoming a bit painful to me. She's getting so strong!

Food Cravings: Sweets and carbs.

Anything making you queasy or sick:  No and my acid reflux is getting better. I've been trying to avoid tomato based foods and citrus things. I had a lemonade from Chick-Fil-A and it was soooo good but it was extremely painful so that was the last of that.

Gender: GIRL!

Symptoms: Acne, a bit of acid reflux but much better this week and lack of sleep.

Wedding rings on or off? Off.

Happy or moody most of the time? Happy!

Looking forward to: Baby girl's arrival! At my last appointment with my midwife she checked and let me know that my cervix was closed and I was not dilated at all. If Acacia doesn't come on her own, I will be induced on May 26th. I'm trying lots of natural remedies to get things going but nothing has worked yet. I still don't have contractions. Minor cramping but that's all. Everyone is telling me she's too comfortable and I take that as a compliment.

Taken at exactly thirty-nine weeks.

On Saturday morning my husband and I had a date. We grabbed coffee, walked the farmer's market and went out to breakfast. Savoring our last moments of just us.

My husband woke up before me on Mother's Day and made me breakfast. I was very excited because he's not a breakfast person and he never cooks breakfast. He had also made French Press coffee the night before so we could have iced coffee.

Mother's Day lunch at my parent's house was steak, ribs, mashed potatoes, biscuits, veggies and salad. All delicious!

My mom and mother-in-law.

Us with the grandma's.

Us with the grandpa's.

My vacuum! I went home and vacuumed that night.

My in-laws got me this cute Mama Bear mug.

In & Out. Wednesday afternoon craving. It was SO GOOD!

I ordered Raspberry Leaf Tea - both in bags and loose leaf. I've read that it helps with labor and it helps the healing process after labor. It's an herbal tea so I can drink it all day long. This will be my first child so obviously my first labor. I'll have nothing to compare it too. BUT if I do feel like this tea really did help me, I'll definitely do a write-up on it.

My Raspberry Leaf Tea let me know that Acacia will not be coming on her due date.

Thirty-Eight Weeks

How far along? Thirty-eight weeks and six days.

Baby's size? Baby is the size of a spaghetti squash.

Baby's nickname? We call her baby, baby girl and Acacia.

Maternity clothes? Yes, mostly wearing all maternity clothes. A few pre-pregnancy tops still fit but not many.

Exercise? Trying to walk as much as I can.

Sleep:  Very little. It gets worse and worse each night. I'm uncomfortable and my acid reflux only makes it worse. I try to nap during the day but usually I'm unsuccessful and I just lay there thinking for a while.

Best moment this week: Putting the stroller and car seat together with my husband. Every time we do something like this for the baby, it makes it all more real. Also, I asked the doggies if they were ready for their baby because she's coming and they ran to the front door. It was the cutest thing!

Miss anything? Not having acid reflux. It's really no fun.

Movement: I downloaded an app that counts kicks because my midwife always asks me if I can count ten kicks in ten minutes. I ended up counting ten kicks in 2 minutes and 21 seconds. She moves constantly! AND she's responding to my touch. If I rub a certain part of my stomach, she will push back in that same spot. It's our way of communication.

Food Cravings: Sweet stuff and carbs. Pretty much the same as usual.

Anything making you queasy or sick: No, just acid reflux after eating anything tomato based or with citrus.

Gender: GIRL!

Symptoms: Acid reflux, acne and lack of sleep. I really can't complain other than that. I get an occasional contraction, which feels like a period cramp, but it's nothing I can't handle.

Wedding rings on or off? Off. It feels so weird. I'm constantly looking for my rings.

Happy or moody most of the time? Happy!

Looking forward to: The birth of our baby girl!

Here's daddy putting Acacia's stroller together.

All ready!

I moved the car seat and stroller to my car. All ready for Acacia to come home with us!
